Great deal on vanilla extract

I use a ton of vanilla extract, but it can become quite expensive to buy.  A friend had told me that the Mexican grocery store had great deals on certain staple items.  I stopped in the store near the bowling alley in Florence (can't think of the store's name) and got a liter of pure vanilla for $6.  They also had great prices on dried beans, dried chiles, rice, and some canned goods.
